I liked very much the hotel, since it's right in the ocean, and also it is in front of a great reef> Lots of activities.

we attended a wedding at Cozumel Palace, but since that all-inclusive resort isn't really my style, we picked the Presidente Intercontinental instead. i am SO happy we did! it is an absolutely lovely hotel, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. from the beautiful open, tropical setting, to the gorgeous rooms with outdoor shower, everything looked perfect.  it wasn't overly crowded when we stayed, so it felt very private and exclusive. the outdoor restaurant was also very good- the pulled pork torta is a must try. the private beach area is small but fantastic.

Presidente has its own sand beach. The hotel is the oldest in the Prseidente chain in Mexico but still is charming with a high level of service. The food in the restaurant (Alfredo's) is excellent. But the highlight is the private beach with a bar and "in water" service. This takes a swim up bar to a new level. They will bring you a drink in the ocean!  Scuba diving is right there also, with its own private dock. It is a bit overpriced for the rooms. But they are large and well appointed. A new pool adds to the grounds. It is a way out of town ($8 taxi ride) but it is quiet. I have been staying there since 1985. Still the best in Cozumel.

I booked this hotel because I could not find any negative reviews and I was not disappointed. The hotel is lovely and spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times. The location is just fantastic - it's a little further out of town - but being further out means it's pretty quiet and exclusive. We spent several days on the beach at the hotel  and saw only a few other couples and families. The snorkeling infront of the hotel was brilliant. We saw so many varieties of fish and sealife that we decided not to take any of the snorkeling tours. (We didn't dive on this trip as the girls are still on the young side). On the downside - it is a shame that the rooms were on the small side - it's an ideal size for a couple. We had a room that opened onto the beach so the room felt larger - but was cramped when we were all in it. The bar food was OK but the other restaurants at the hotel were average. We didn't find a great place to eat on Cozumel at all. My only complaint about the hotel was the odd and inconsistent charges for water (considering you can't drink the tap water). You had to pay in the bar ($4 for a small bottle) but elsewhere on site it was free. But that's a minor complaint. Overall the hotel get's 4 stars out of 5. I wasn't disappointed and would recommend this hotel to anyone just for the location and snorkeling alone.

From around 7:00am to 7:00 pm (every day Thursday - Tuesday) we had to listen to the sound of construction at the next property - they were breaking rocks the entire time with some kind of a tractor-mounted jack-hammer. That may explain why the hotel seemed deserted - on Thursday and Monday mornings, we were almost the only ones at the pool or beach  - eerie! Other than the noise, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The toilet did clog twice. The ocean view room did have a very nice view and patio. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. I think if you request a room on the far side of the huge complex, you might be able to escape the noise to a large extent. The two restaurants are good by Cozumel standards. It was difficult to tell who was selling what in the lobby, so you might want to ask the desk where to go for help with events planning. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive south of town, so you are completely away from the cruise-ship madness closer to town. I liked being able to take a taxi in to town to eat after I saw that the cruise ships had left for the day.

This was a great hotel (strangely, it seemed fairly empty in late March, but all the more room at the pool for everyone else!). There are separate pools for adults and families with children, which is nice. My only complaint is that some of the waiters in the restaurant were a bit disorganized and smug. Waiting for a while for a check, item ordered  that was forgotten, and hardly a smile. Service staff should always great you with a smile, and should always ask if there is anything else they can get you. Here they gave you the impression that they were doing you a favor and need not be gracious! Other than that, fabulous. We got maid service 3 times a day, and loved the 'two showers' in every simple room (great for showering off after the pool outside, in your atrium, while another person showers inside!)

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days for the New Year. The hotel itself, the service, the rooms are very nice, however, the beach is almost non-existent. There is a small lagoon with sandy shore and rocky bottom - not very pleasant. You need to take a cab to the nearest nice, wide sandy beach (15 min). Another service that the hotel shall improve is  daycare for kids. But overall, considering that we engaged ourselves in other activities like scuba, tennis, etc, the hotel is very nice and very much recommended.

The Presidente in Cozumel made this our best vacation ever. It is a world class resort. We were in Cozumel 118 years ago, at that time we said if we ever came back we would stay at the Presidente and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is wonderful and very understated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The scuba shop on site was world class. I can't say enough positive. If I dig for one negative it would be that it is somewhat removed from any other restaurants but every time we left we felt like we never should have left. The restaurant on site has the best view on decent food.

This is one of the finest hotels in the world. The level of service is very high. The hotel is located on a private beach about 5 miles south of town. The amount of beach front and hotel common area per room is very high. The rooms are nicely appointed. I suggest the ocean view rooms on the second floor (the 5200 series). The restaurants are very good and the Emperor Alfredo restaurant located in the hotel is also very very good - and reasonably priced for such a fine restaurant. Even the ancilary services such as rental cars and tours and scuba charges are in line with those in town.
